About HOFA

WHO ARE WE? 

Hotel Owners Forum Abuja (HOFA) is an association of all owners /investors in the hotel industry in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja - Nigeria. The association is Government registered and has been in operation since 2002 with the following objectives:

  • To protect Hotel Owners, investments with the view topromoting tourism.

  • To promote peace, unity and understanding among members and present a collective voice on matters affecting the hotel industry.

  • To promote and ensure standards of proffessional practice and ensures security of guests and investments. Hence, the motto of the association: Hospitality and Security.

  • To create interactive forum for members to share experience, train members and staff and allow bulk purchase of goods and services for hotels.

  • Provide platform for foreign partnership in tourism development in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Nigeria.

ACHIEVEMENTS OF HOFA

  • HOFA works with all security agents: State Security Services (SSS), The Nigeria Police Force, Civil Defence Corps, Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS), EFCC,  etc.

  • HOFA has been recognised as the only credible hotel Association in Abuja. The recognition has been given by the Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Orientation, FCT Minister, Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB), NESREA, Abuja Municipal Area Council, Water Board  and many other Councils in the FCT.

  • HOFA has a good working relationship and understanding with relevant government Agencies which allows for consultation and resolution of issues through dialogue.

  • HOFA represents the view and aspiration of the private sectors in the Hospitality Industries during Legislation and policy issues.

  • HOFA successfully persuaded the FCT to accomodate smaller Hotels through conversion and regularization of the  use instead of closing down.

  • HOFA has through various negotiations received price reductions for member Hotels for business premises bills, AEPB bills, Liquor License, etc and is still negotiating more!
